Seeding Devices

LaVision offers various models of seeding particle generators to be used for PIV and LDV applications. Each seeding device provides the appropriately-sized seeding particles to seed the flow field for velocity measurements. The different seeding devices can be used with different materials (liquid and solid).

Aerosol Generator
The LaVision Aerosol Generator generates a polydisperse aerosol by atomizing liquids into particles in the submicrometer range. In combination with LaVision`s  FlowMaster PIV systems it is designed to measure velocities in air flow. Depending on the model the seeder sustains a counter pressure up to 10 bar or 16 bar. Both models have a compact and portable size.

Particle Blaster
The solid particle generator Particle Blaster 110 generates particles in the micrometer range. In combination with LaVision`s FlowMaster PIV systems it is designed to measure velocities in air flow for pressure up to 5 bar. It is a swirling bed generator, consisting of a magnetic stirrer and a magnetic stir bar inside the cylinder housing.
For measuring velocities in air flow for pressure up to 20 bar, LaVision is offering the Particle Blaster 200, a fluidized bed generator, protected by a pressure relief valve.

Helium-filled Soap Bubble (HFSB) Generator
The LaVision Helium-filled Soap Bubble (HFSB) Generator is designed to generate soap bubbles at an extremely high rate as a seeding material for flow visualization, mainly for large scale volumetric particle image velocimetry measurements. Its new nozzle design enables up to 50 nozzles in parallel and 2 Mio bubbles per second. A micro-processor inside the controller device automatically manages the air, helium and soap flow rates with start, stop and pause modes.

Power Fog Generator
The vaporizing fog generator generates particles in the submicrometer range. In combination with LaVision's FlowMaster PIV systems, it is designed to measure velocities in air flow for pressure up to 20 bar.
